Working for the welfare of Lithuania

The Kazickas Family Foundation (KFF) was established in 2000. Its mission is to help Lithuania in its post-Soviet development, especially in the areas of education, technology and social welfare.

KFF has distributed more than 1000 computers to urban and rural schools in Lithuania and facilitates computer training programs for students and teachers.

KFF awards prizes and scholarships to talented young people in the sciences and arts. It supports several international exchange programs where young Lithuanian students and entrepreneurs can be exposed to new life experiences, primarily in the U.S. Among these is ASSIST which places international students in prestigious secondary schools in the US.

In 2004, KFF was a sponsor of the Across Cultures program affiliated with the Women’s Business Exchange which brought 20 women from Estonia and Lithuania to Seattle for two weeks of mentoring and discussions with prominent business people. In May, 2005, a group of American women came to the Baltic countries for meetings and seminars continuing the Across Cultures dialogue.

To meet the pressing social needs in Lithuania, KFF makes grants to programs that foster the welfare of children, especially orphans, and organizations that help combat AIDS, alcoholism and domestic violence. KFF also supports many cultural and sports events as well as the historical preservation of important architectural sites in the Old Towns of Vilnius and Kaunas.
